Pope John Paul II dies at 84
Tears, tolling bells as Catholic leader succumbs after lengthy illness
VATICAN CITY - Pope John Paul II, who led the Roman Catholic Church for more than a quarter century and became history's most-traveled pope, died on Saturday evening, the Vatican said in a statement.
“We all feel like orphans tonight but our faith teaches us that those who believe in the Lord live in him,” Archbishop Renato Boccardo told a crowd estimated at St. Peter’s.
The news was immediately announced to around 60,000 gathered in St Peter's Square.
"Our Holy Father John Paul, 84, has returned to the house of the Father," Archbishop Leonardo Sandri told the crowds.
Bells and tears
The statement was met with a long applause, an Italian sign of respect. Bells tolled and many people wept openly. Others sang the “Ave Maria” and other hymns.
“My father died last year. For me, it feels the same,” said Elisabetta Pomacalca, a 25-year-old Peruvian who lives in Rome.
When word of his death reached his hometown in Wadowice, Poland, at the end of a special Mass in the church where he worshipped as a boy, people fell to their knees and wept.
Church bells rang out after the announcement from the Vatican, but it took several minutes for people inside the packed church to find out as they continued their vigil into a second night. Then parish priest, the Rev. Jakub Gil, came to the front as the last hymn faded away, and said, “His life has come to an end."
World leaders reacted quickly to the loss.
"The world has lost a champion of peace and freedom" with the death of the pope, President Bush said in Washington.
A Mass was scheduled for St. Peter’s Square for 10:30 a.m. (4:30 a.m. ET) Sunday.
In announcing the death, Sandri said, "The Holy Father died this evening at 9:37 p.m. in his private apartment. All the procedures outlined in the apostolic Constitution `Universi Dominici Gregis' that was written by John Paul II on Feb. 22, 1996, have been put in motion."

the pollution of the maroonies!
MUSIC: She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5
(I cannot play Maroon 5's Songs About Jane album yet today because I'm starving myself of it. Sacrifice is needed during the Lenten Season. I figured that will be worthy.)
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Because I'm working in a call centre, I was obliged to work during the Lenten season (which have equal advantages and disadvantages, if you ask me). I finally saw Manila without the congested traffic jam, and it was a real pleasure. I feel like I was transported to another country. Really! I was able to breathe easily without all that polluted air courtesy of the buses. I realised that I can, indeed, skip MRT if the roads were all wide and open. It'll be a pleasurable ride.
Yesterday at work, I had my first ever overtime for this year. (They have been luring me to do an o.t. for quite sometime now). I figured, hell yes! my salary will be doubled since it was Holy Thursday (it was considered a Thursday shift) and it was a legal holiday. Though, at home everyone is busy watching some dvds (my sister is having her Sex and the City dvds marathon), I am here at work pondering on how I can get myself out of the maze-like questions these Americans are calling about. Arghghhhh.... I wish I can watch Maroon 5 instead.
My fave band ~ Maroon 5 is on tour now. Here are some pics a friend emailed to me. I wish I can watch them too....

Lyrics~fave song for the moment
Woman
by Maroon 5
If I be so inclined to climb up beside you,
Would you tell me that the time just isnt right?
And if I ever find the key you hide so well,
Will you tell me that I can spend the night?
Leavin your smell on my coat, leavin your taste on my shoulder.
I still fail to understand what it is about this woman.
If I could bottle up the chills that you give me
I would keep them in a jar next to my bed.
And If I should ever draw a picture of a woman
It is you that would come flowing from my pen
Leavin your clothes on the floor, Making me walk out the door
And I still fail to understand what it is about this woman.
Helplessly melting as I stand next to the sun.
As she burns me, I am screaming out for more
Drink every drop of liquid heat that I've become.
Pop me open, spoon me out on to the floor.
Leavin your smell on my coat, leavin your taste on my shoulder,
I still fail to understand, fail to understand
Leavin your smell on my coat, leavin your taste on my shoulder.
I still fail to understand what it is about this woman.

Watched it, loved it!
Just wanna post this here cuz I am memorising these lines:
all i ask of you
RAOUL
No more talk
of darkness,
Forget these
wide-eyed fears.
I'm here,
nothing can harm you -
my words will
warm and calm you.
Let me be
your freedom,
let daylight
dry -your tears.
I'm here,
with you, beside you,
to guard you
and to guide you . . .
CHRISTINE
Say you love me
every
waking moment,
turn my head
with talk of summertime . . .
Say you need me
with you,
now and always . . .
promise me that all
you say is true -
that's all I ask
of you . . .
RAOUL
Let me be
your shelter,
let me
be your light.
You're safe:
No-one will find you
your fears are
far behind you . . .
CHRISTINE
All I want
is freedom,
a world with
no more night . . .
and you
always beside me
to hold me
and to hide me . . .
RAOUL
Then say you'll share with
me one
love, one lifetime . . .
Iet me lead you
from your solitude . . .
Say you need me
with you
here, beside you . . .
anywhere you go,
let me go too -
Christine,
that's all I ask
of you . . .
CHRISTINE
Say you'll share with
me one
love, one lifetime . . .
say the word
and I will follow you . . .
BOTH
Share each day with
me, each
night, each morning . . .
CHRISTINE
Say you love me . . .
RAOUL
You know I do . . .
BOTH
Love me -
that's all I ask
of you . . .
(They kiss)
Anywhere you go
let me go too . . .
Love me -
that's all I ask
of you . .
(CHRISTINE starts from her reverie)
CHRISTINE
I must go -
they'll wonder where I am . . .
wait for me, Raoul!
RAOUL
Christine, I love you!
CHRISTINE
Order your fine horses!
Be with them at the door!
RAOUL
And soon you'll be beside me!
CHRISTINE
You'll guard me, and you'll guide me . . .
(They hurry off. The PHANTOM emerges from
behind the statue)

Header:Awesome
As you guys can see, I have a new header and I'm totally loving it so I decided to write something today. And as everybody who visits my blog know, I'm a lazy writer (ironic becuz I graduated with a degree in Journalism) and you can all notice that on my archives.
Anyway, I'd like to give a shout out thanks to Sabrina for doing this fantastic piece of art! Imagine all three of my dearies on my header! Cool... Also, in case you guys don't know those three are (L-R) Viggo Mortensen, Adam Levine (still handsome with his hand on his face) and Orlando Bloom. Three men I'd die to meet.
Thank you so much, Sab!
OF Love and Valentines...
It is Valentine's Day next week, I am missing the days when I have chocolates and flowers on my hand. Someone whispering "I love you" on your ear and me giggling like a teenage freak (well, I was a teenager at that time so there was an excuse). It sometimes make you feel empty being single, especially in a day like this. Nonetheless, if I think of it further, I would still choose a life without a boyfriend. In that case I can do whatever I want ~ I can stay late at night partying with my guy friends; I can drool over hunky actors and a gorgeous vocalist; I can watch Manhunt without somebody teasing me about it; to top it all, I never have to spend a single centavo buying gifts and cards.
Anyway, Love isn't only just having a relationship with somebody. Anyone, anywhere there is love. I don't need a guy to actually feel I am being loved. I love myself, my family loves me, my dog loves me.
I haven't celebrated Valentine's since I was in third year high school, say I was 16-year old. Puppy love. Stupid love. Yet, I enjoyed it.
So, what am I gonna do on Valentine's Day?
Nothing.
Although, I filed Vacation Leave at that day. I won't be celebrating it! I will be glued on Tv watching the Grammy Awards. That's it. Me and Adam Levine (maroon 5) will have a date on that day.
ETA:
Whoa! Rock On!
